Target will create a special moment during The GRAMMY Awards with a one-of-a-kind collaboration featuring multi-platinum singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen, up-and-coming sensation Lil Yachty and hitmaker Mike WiLL Made-It (Beyonce’s “Formation,” Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles”). The unexpected trio will reinvent the classic “It Takes Two,” delivering more music throughout an extended telecast commercial break with a fresh take on the classic hit as it soundtracks an imaginative 3-minute spot.
Celebrating how everything gets better when things come together, the spot finds Carly, Lil Yachty and friends taking over a Target store as it becomes a product-filled playground. The vision was brought to life with the help of award-winning director Roman Coppola and choreographer Mandy Moore, who’s in the spotlight for her work on La La Land.
Target continues its tradition of delivering fun and surprising moments with buzzworthy artists from all genres, including one-of-a-kind experiences with artists like Gwen Stefani, Garth Brooks, Imagine Dragons, Brett Eldredge and many more. These collaborations give Target and their partner artists exciting and interesting ways to connect with fans and deliver exclusive music, content and one-of-a-kind experiences. With this unique collaboration, fans will also be able to play the catchy “It Takes Two” remake on repeat in advance of the commercial debut as it becomes available for streaming and download on Feb. 10.
