Top SAG Awards to Parasite, Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger

Parasite made history — again, hearkening back to its historic Cannes Palm d’Or honor — taking home the outstanding cast award at this year’s 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The cast of The Crown and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel emerged winners in the television categories.

A friendly crossing-of-paths between exes Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt not only delighted fans everywhere, but saw big wins for each of the two actors.

Aniston lead Apple TV+ to its first SAG Awards win with a lead actress honor for her work on series The Morning Show. Pitt brought the funny upon accepting his statuette for his role in the Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: “I’ve got to add this to my Tinder profile.”

Acting peers bestowed the load actress honor upon Renée Zellweger for her portrayal of beloved actor-singer Judy Garland in a markedly tight category featuring highly noted performances from Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lopez, Cynthia Erivo and Scarlett Johansson.

Joker star and outstanding lead actor winner Joaquin Phoenix delivered perhaps the most poignant moment of the evening, not only saluting each of his fellow nominees, but also noting that he stands on the shoulders of late actor Heath Ledger. Ledger delivered an unforgettable turn as the Joker in Batman installment  The Dark Knight.
