Megan Thee Stallion, Beyoncé Team with Bread of Life for Pandemic Relief

Megan Thee Stallion’s surprise remix of “Savage,” featuring fellow Houston, Texas, native Beyoncé, provides pandemic relief in more ways than a few.

The überdynamic duo released the new track through Bread of Life, Inc.—an organization dedicated to helping scores of people affected by the coronavirus pandemic—and will donate remix proceeds to the community service organization’s efforts.

Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the Bread of Life team has reportedly distributed 14 tons of produce, shelf-stable food and supplies to roughly 500 families each week. Bread of Life reaches community members in need via drive-through access, delivers food to about 100 homebound seniors each week, helps with the hiring social workers and telehealth program access for high-risk individuals and more.

Founded in September 1992, Bread of Life, Inc. began serving of hot meals to homeless people in St. John’s United Methodist Church sanctuary in downtown Houston. Since that time, the team has responded to such crises as Hurricane Karina and more recently, Hurricane Harvey.

Must-Buy for Stallion, Bey Fans

For Megan and Beyoncé fans sheltering in place—and those risking your lives out and about—this remix is four minutes of hard-bopping, fun relief from our current grim, often bizarre realities. A worthy addition to whatever playlists are powering you and Instagram DJs everywhere through.

Megan’s flow and personality is consistently solid and strong. Period. All the sexuality that comes with this emcee, whether one loves it or turns away clutching pearls, is gravy. The Beyoncé that shows up on “Savage” is having as much a blast as the Bey who partnered with Nikki Minaj for “Feelin’ Myself.” Punchy and pleasantly cutting.

The nod to Mama Tina alone is worth the download price, especially considering the help your purchase will provide during this moment in history.
